Copper catalysis in organic synthesis
Copper is a very versatile transition metal that has been used as a building material by human civilizations for over 6000 years. Copper is also an essential element, responsible for important biological processes. The title of this Thematic Series published in the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry is “Copper catalysis in organic synthesis”. A web of scienceTM topic search of “copper-catal...

NO oxidation catalysis on copper doped hexagonal phase LaCoO3: a combined experimental and theoretical study.
Cobalt-based perovskite catalysts showed excellent performance towards NO-NO2 oxidation. We systematically investigated the influence of different levels of Cu-doping on the catalytic performance of hexagonal phase LaCoO3 (LaCo1-xCuxO3 (x = 0.1, 0.2, 0.3)) for NO oxidation. The catalytic activities of the oxide catalysts followed the sequence: LaCo0.9Cu0.1O3 > LaCoO3 > LaCo0.8Cu0.2O3 > LaCo0.7C...
متن کاملMechanism of Copper/Azodicarboxylate-Catalyzed Aerobic Alcohol Oxidation: Evidence for Uncooperative Catalysis.
Cooperative catalysis between Cu(II) and redox-active organic cocatalysts is a key feature of important chemical and enzymatic aerobic oxidation reactions, such as alcohol oxidation mediated by Cu/TEMPO and galactose oxidase. Nearly 20 years ago, Markó and co-workers reported that azodicarboxylates, such as di-tert-butyl azodicarboxylate (DBAD), are effective redox-active cocatalysts in Cu-cata...
متن کاملOptically transparent water oxidation catalysts based on copper nanowires.
Let the light shine through: A transparent film of copper nanowires was transformed into an electrocatalyst for water oxidation by electrodepostion of Ni or Co onto the surface of the nanowires. These core-shell nanowire networks exhibit electrocatalytic performance equivalent to metal oxide films of similar composition, but are several times more transparent.
